Preschool hell

So the time has to pick a school for Ella. It sucks. We love her family daycare and they truly have become just that, family. Ella loves it there and she is loved there. Which makes finding a new school for her all the more difficult. So I have been untying the decision off for months now but now it is time I have to figure this put. We have three schools on the list right now. Really 2 but I am keeping options open. School 1 is my first choice. It is a Montessori school and my mom was a Montessori teacher. I love the teaching method and I think Ella would do awesome there. The school is beautiful I mean Montessori school by nature are pretty. The wood materials, the cloth napkins, the cups hanging on a hook. I can picture her on may with the pink tower. Only one problem.....the money. Sweet jesus the money. It is totally out of the question without financial aid. I mean it is $3000 more a year for just the 8-3 program. Forget the after and before care I would need. That brings the grand total up to close to 8 grand more a year. So without financial aid or a lottery win Ella much to my mother's dismay will not be Montessori educated. The financial aid and admissions application are comical though. There is a whole page for ella's financial information. The do not seem to have a spot to record the contents of her pink piggy bank but there is a spot to record the contents of her trust fund. It seems as if a trust fund should eliminate you from financial aid but that is just me. There is also a page to record the homes you own...there are three blanks available my guess is that if you own three properties you should be screened out at that point. Well at least we will look good financially. I think the admissions director also mentioned that they REALLY encourage diversity at the school. I hope they have not filled their lesbian preemie teacher/social worker quota and bring us on board.
That brings us to options two and three. One really doesn't work without crazy scheduling stress. They don't own until 8. This is a problem if I need to do drop off since school starts at 8:50. At this point I am assuming that Shazam will have a job at one of the hospitals and will not be available ditto do drop off. While this school is the cheapest the stress of figuring out a morning nanny to take her to school and the added expense does not make sense to me. Option three is in the middle price wise and I liked the space much much better than option 2. Pretty much I think we will plunk down our non refundable deposit for option 3 and see what happens with Montessori taking pity on us. The admissions director said they can't do a full ride but they can come close so here is hoping. Now I need to go and write about how Ella likes to spend her leisure time and what our educational goals are for Ella. Are there two year olds that have non leisure time? I am pretty sure Ella's life is leisure time.
